Whether cats or dogs are better is the age-old question, but in this article, according to the student of Fugett Middle School, we'll decide which is better. We asked people around the school about whether they preferred cats or dogs, and they said that they preferred dogs. Dogs are loving, positive, and fun companions whereas cats are more independent and like to be left alone. Each pet has their unique characteristic that makes people love that type of pet.

Cats

Cats have been around for a very long time. People have kept them as pets for many reasons. In ancient Egypt, people believed that cats were magic creatures and would bring good luck to the household that they were in. However, there are a few things to consider if you want a cat as a pet. They need a litter box, which can cost a lot of money, and they might scratch your furniture and rip it, which can also cost a lot for maintenance. They also have costly vet fees to make sure they are healthy. Even though they are very high maintenance, they need nowhere near as much pampering as dogs need. Cats are also a lot calmer, if you don't always want to have to be trying to control your pet, cats would be great for you.

Dogs

Dogs are also great pets. They are very joyful and love to play with their owners. They are more active than cats but require a lot more help. They need to be fed, they need to be cleaned, and they need to be taken out to walk every day. Without these things, dogs wouldn't be the fun and happy pets that they are now. While it's true that dogs can sometimes be loud and disruptive, they also offer many benefits that can outweigh these potential downsides. For example, dogs are known for their loyalty and affection towards their owners, and they can provide a sense of security and protection. Additionally, they can be trained to perform various functional tasks, such as guiding the blind or assisting people with disabilities.
