Do you know your teacher's favorite color? Or where they graduated from? Most likely you don't because you never thought to ask. Sydney and I decided to ask. We hope you get all your questions answered in this article. Without further ado let's begin.
Donna Lynn Donohue currently teaches 7th-grade math. Mrs. Donohue initially got her Computer Science degree at Jefferson University, but then, later on, got her Math Bachelor's Degree from Immaculata University. She went back to Immaculata to get her teaching degree. Mrs. Donohue started at DuPont doing automotive coding but decided that she wanted to do something different. She wanted her new job to be about helping others. This dream job was teaching. Mrs. Donohue originally wanted to teach computer science but decided instead to teach math because she enjoyed math more.
Mrs. Donohue has now been teaching for 20 years and loves teaching algebra to kids. Her favorite thing about teaching is "it's never dull", and that she gets to deal with different kids' personalities. Mrs. Donohue has many other favorite things that do not just including teaching. Her favorite food is tiramisu. Her favorite color is green. Her favorite holiday is Christmas. She also loves Scattergories and dogs.
Talking about dogs, did you know that Mrs. Donohue has 2 dogs named, Riley (12 years old) and Kona. An interesting fact about Kona is that in Hawaiian Kona means Donna, which happens to be Mrs. Donohue's first name. Other members of her family include her husband and 2 kids. If Mrs. Donohue wasn't a teacher she would be a baker making lots of pi's.
Our next teacher, unlike Mrs. Donohue, is from the Y team, not the X team, it's... Mr. Grello! He teaches 7th-grade science. Mr. Grello wanted to become a teacher because he enjoyed working with students and he also loves science. Mr. Grello went to WCU to get his Bachelor's degree in Earth and Space Science and went to Wilkes for his Master in Education. If he was to teach something else he would teach Astronomy in the high school. In another world, were Mr. Grello wasn't a teacher, he said he would like to be a field scientist (which is someone who does surveying and natural environment type stuff). He has been working at Fugett for 10 years, but his entire teaching career is 16 years. Out of all his years teaching, the most memorable year was his first. Well speaking of class, Mr. Grello says when we watch movies in his class it is to reach visual learners. Mr. Grello thinks, as do most teachers, homework is important. An interesting fact is Mr. Grello first started teaching in Oahu, Hawaii. His favorite thing about teaching is working with students and introing something new; his favorite thing to teach is Astronomy.
At home, Mr. Grello enjoys eating lasagna and playing Trivial Pursuit with his wife and two daughters (Koneil (3) and Eloise (1)). Though we're pretty sure his daughters are just eating the lasagna and making it impossible for them to play Trivial Pursuit. Mr. Grello also likes Thanksgiving, koalas, and the color midnight blue.
Thanks for reading! Sydney and I hope you enjoyed learning about Mrs. Donohue and Mr. Grello!
