Are you the kind of person that makes an NCAA bracket every year and always fails? Or are you the person who wants to make a bracket every year, but never gets around to it? If you're planning to make a bracket, here are some tips to help this year be your best March Madness Year ever.
1-Don't listen to the seed numbers. Seed numbers supposedly represent teams overall skill, with 1 being the best, and 16 being the worst. Most novices always choose the lower seed to win, but a lot of the time, lower seeds don't win! IF you think a 15 seed is better than a 2 seed, pick the 15 seed! A high seed almost ALWAYS goes out in the first round, so don't be shy about putting a two-digit team in the sweet sixteen.
2-Know the stats. Before making a bracket, do some research. So far this season, Tennessee, Duke, Virginia, Gonzaga, and Michigan are favored to do well. But, make sure you know the standings of teams before you make a bracket decision.
3-Ask Around. Feeling unsure about a game? Ask some friends or family! There opinions can prove to be very helpful.
4- Go with your gut. More times than not, if you feel like a team has a good chance of winning, choose them! Even if they're a lower seed, no.11 seeds have won March Madness before, so just go with your gut!
5-Know not every number one seed is in the final four. This might come as a surprise, but there has been no times where 4 1st seeds have been in the final four.
6-Keep at least one number on seed around. Even though we just said not to put lots of number one seeds in your final four bracket, please, keep at least one. There has only been 3 years in ALL of March Madness history when at least one number one seed hasn't advanced to the final four.
7-Don't feel bad. If you get one game wrong or if you get 32 wrong, don't feel bad. Remember, NOBODY had ever had a perfect bracket before, in fact the odds of having a perfect bracket are one in nine quintillion! The best bracket ever only had 39 correct games.
Hopefully these March Madness bracket tips will help you this season. Make sure to keep these tips in mind as you make your brackets!
