Most people probably have bought lunch or a snack at school, but what do people think of the "Vegetable or fruit, Milk, and main course deals". If you just look around the cafeteria on an ordinary day, you won't see many children with a vegetable or fruit. Many kids are eating French fries, but aren't there actual vegetables like carrots on their plate. From my experience of sitting at 3 different lunch tables during the 6th grade lunch, there weren't a lot of vegetables or fruits. At one table, 2 people bought lunch and both people had the fruit or vegetables, but only 1 actually ate the fruit. While sitting at 3 different lunch tables, only a few kids had vegetables. At table # 1 only one kid out of 4 had an actual vegetable or fruit, and, that was an apple. Now, at table #2 only 1 person had a vegetable or a fruit, and there were at least 6 people at the table. Finally, at table #3 there weren't any vegetables. None. Well, why should you eat vegetables? What do they do? Well, first they are low in fat and calories. Also vegetables are grown from the ground, and they don't have any weird ingredients that you cannot pronounce. In Health, you will or have learned about the cardiovascular system, and vegetables help your body produce healthier red blood cells. Not many people buy vegetables or a fruit, although they should because having a vegetable or fruit can help your health in many different ways. Fruits and vegetables are important for kids, and schools should try to add more healthier menu options.
